Amazing Frogs & Friends Little Ray's Nature Center

Special Exhibit NEW at the 2019 Florida State Fair!

Opens Daily with Gates and Closes at 9:00pm!
Location: The Florida Center

Come have fun with Frogs and Friends! Discover one of the most diverse and beautiful group of animals you’ll ever meet. Learn about the key roles they play in our ecosystem and what makes a frog a frog. Visitors will also meet a variety of related species, including other amphibians, and animals that exist in a frog’s ecosystem! Trained zookeepers will be on hand each day to interact with our patrons as well as perform four daily educational programs.

Ag-Venture

Location: Inside the Ag Hall of Fame

Ag-Venture is a hands-on learning experience designed to help Fairgoers understand the importance of agriculture and appreciating where their food comes from. Ag-Venture shows just how large of an impact agriculture has in their everyday lives.

Batcopter

February 7-18, 2019
Location: Near Gate 4 - Off Orient Road

Take a ride in N3079G, the original Batcopter from the Batman TV series and the original Batman movie! Captain Eugene Nock, A.T.P. acquired this world famous helicopter and has meticulously restored N3079G to complete airworthy condition!

*This is a specialty ride, not included in gate admission or armband price.

Pricing:
$40 per person, per ride - Single Orbit
$50 per person, per ride - Double Orbit

Each flight typically accommodates two passengers of any age (the flight crew will determine per flight for safety with wind, weight and weather conditions).

Cracker Country Living History Museum

Location: By Gate 2 & Behind the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Exhibit

Immerse yourself in the life of a 19th century Florida pioneer! Mildred W. and Doyle E. Carlton, Jr Cracker Country is Tampa’s only outdoor living history museum. Set on four beautiful acres of live oak trees, the museum features original structures built throughout Florida between 1870-1912, restored and furnished to represent aspects of home life, trades, commerce and transportation as it was in rural Florida just before the turn of the 20th century. Educators and tradespersons in historic dress share knowledge and demonstrate skills.

Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame & Ag Showcase

Location: Next to The Rabbit & Poultry Barn

The Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame & Ag Showcase Building is a presentation of Florida’s wide variety of agricultural products. This year’s center exhibit will feature Florida Aquaculture. Fairgoers can also learn about Florida’s strawberries, citrus, bees, poultry, beef cattle, watermelons and more. As part of the Ag Showcase Building, Fairgoers can learn about insects in our Insect Encounter. The exhibit will feature exotic insects by their common names like ant lion, zebra or swallowtail, and attendees will learn about processes like metamorphosis through hands-on activities.

Florida Cattle Ranching Museum

Location: Inside Florida Forest Discovery Center - Next to The Power of Steam

Florida’s cattle industry is one of the oldest and largest in the nation. Experience 500 years of unique ranching traditions through personal stories, photographs, art and authentic artifacts in this exhibit presented by the Florida Cattlemen’s Foundation.

Meet some of Florida’s most incredible native animals and plants. Discover some of the many ways to enjoy our natural environment, such as hiking, fishing, boating, hunting and photography. Learn how you can become a “citizen scientist” and help FFWCC protect and preserve our fish and wildlife habitats.

Florida Forest Discovery Center

This exhibit features displays that highlight the ecological and economic value of Florida’s forests. Meet foresters, fire fighters and scientists who share how their stewardship protects our forest lands!

Florida Learning Garden

Location: Next to Gate 3

This year-round garden was developed in partnership with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and local business to offer a working garden that educates the community about sustainable gardening. The Florida Learning Garden also helps create a network for people engaged in local food sources.

Florida Life-Smarts State Championship

Monday, February 18 at 10:00am
Location: Bob Thomas Equestrian Center Pavilion

Life-Smarts, established in 1994, is a program of the National Consumer League, the nation’s pioneering consumer organization. Life-Smarts, the ultimate consumer challenge, is an educational opportunity for students in 6th-12th grade. This competition prepares students to enter the real world as smart adult consumers by focuing on five key areas: consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, health and safety, personal finance and technology.

Hillsborough County Public Schools Showcase

Hillsborough County Public Schools highlights school success and diversity at the Florida State Fair. Displays offer the opportunity to share successful programs and educational strategies utilized in our schools. With two themed areas, visitors can experience how Hillsborough County schools prioritize the well-rounded educational experience through the Preparing Students for Life and the Tribute to Black History displays. Cultural awareness partnered with a wide variety of academic and creative opportunities gives our students the hands-on learning they need in becoming productive members of our community.

Little Farm Hands

Location: Across from Charlie Lykes Arena near the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center

Little Farm Hands is an agricultural education exhibit for kids. Children ages 2-7 become farm hands at this free, hands-on exhibit as they are provided the opportunity to experience the agricultural process, beginning at the farm and ending at the market.

Livestock Barns

February 7-18, 2019
Location: Next to Charlie Lykes Arena

Fairgoers can see a variety of animals being exhibited by open and youth exhibitors from around the country. In the Livestock Barn, attendees will learn about beef and dairy animals, pygmy goats, dairy goats, sheep and swine.The different species and breeds will be judged and on display at various times during the Fair.

Milking Parlor Demonstration

Fairgoers will see a modern milking parlor in operation. Our Milk Man explains the work behind the process, and kids may even get a chance to help out

Rabbit & Poultry Barn

February 7-18, 2019
Location: Next to Charlie Lykes Arena

In the Rabbit and Poultry Barn, students will see a wide variety of different breeds of rabbits and chickens. At educational displays, you can see eggs hatching, baby chicks, litters of baby rabbits and rabbit hair-spinning demonstration. Fairgoers can even talk one-on-one with youth exhibitors in the Ask Me Booth.

Salute to Agriculture Exhibit

Location: Next to Ag Hall of Fame

Milk a Cow at 10:00am, Noon, 2:00, 4:00, & 6:00pm

The Salute to Ag Exhibit is a feature exhibit that takes you into the world of animal agriculture. Fairgoers will see beef cows, dairy cows, chickens, sow and litter, as well as a variety of other animals. You may also have a chance to bottle feed a baby calf, hold a baby chick or watch a calf be born in our Moo-ternity Ward.
