Come, Relax and Discover the Past

We all know that this time of year brings much joy and excitement, but it can be a bit hectic too.  For a relaxing end to the holiday season, “Discover the Past” at Cracker Country and take a tranquil stroll back in time.

On Saturday, January 3, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. you will experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Florida in 1898 at our “Discover the Past” event.  You will relive rural Florida history through a variety of hands-on experiences like: spinning and weaving, butter making, toys and games, and corn shuck doll making.  You’ll also learn about the art of making cane syrup and help make a rope along with much more.  Admission to the event is $6.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors and students (6-12).  Children five and younger are admitted free.

Another feature for this month’s “Discover the Past” event is the all new Picture Pass program.  With Picture Pass you have your photograph taken by the Cracker Country photographer and thirty minutes later view your photos at the Picture Pass Store.  For $2 you will take home a 4”X6” photograph to remind you of your Cracker Country experiences.
