[NEWS RELEASE] TAMPA, FL. — December 31, 2007. Elvis impersonators, sequined-clad showgirls and choreographed musical numbers! No, it’s not the latest show from the Las Vegas strip but the 2008 Florida State Fair. This year’s Fair is bringing a piece of Vegas to the Sunshine State!
The 2008 Florida State fair includes a Las Vegas Revue, the finals of a national Elvis impersonator contest, up and coming country acts, alligator wrestling, future WWE stars, dozens of new rides and more food than you imagine. Discount gate admission tickets for the 2008 Florida State Fair go on sale Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at participating Sweetbay Supermarket locations. Save up to 40% on adult tickets in advance for only $6 per adult and $4 per child ages six to 11 -- so do not miss out on super savings by getting your tickets early! Adults are considered ages 12 and up and kids ages five and under are free. Beginning January 7, additional Fair offers for ride tickets, Pepsi Armbands and Family Fun Packs can be purchased online at floridastatefair.net, by mail, fax, or in person at the Fairgrounds Box Office. Country Gold Tour concert tickets can only be purchased online at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ or in person at the Fairgrounds Box Office. Buying an advanced gate ticket will guarantee admission to the Florida State Fair; a Fair like never before. - Ag Hall of Fame "Farm to Fuel" Exhibit: Learn about Ethanol, Biodiesel, and Hydrogen fuels and how the State of Florida is pursing new renewable fuel technology

- Jousting Tournament: Two-day event featuring jousting and heavy mounted combat in the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center
- Blacksmiths World Championship: One-of-a-kind, two day event dedicated to the art and skill of horseshoe welding
